Corry: Work
“Carry! Those
people can sit at table 3!”
It’s Corry you
imbecile. “Right this way ladies and gentlemen! My name is Corry. Feel free to
call me if you need anything and your waitress will be along shortly.”
Don’t make me go
back to the front desk. Oh God I have to, don’t I? I am going to be sick again
if that perpetual popcorn scent insists on haunting and taunting me. It’s bad
enough having to pass through the food court on the third floor to get up here.
Why the hell do I work here?
“Can we be
seated yet? We’ve been waiting for 15 minutes, Carry!”
Freaking BSS
girls. “I know. I’m so sorry guys! While you wait why don’t you tell me what
you thought of the Grad trip?” Is Corry really that hard to pronounce? You guys
have known me since the 6th grade.
I seriously
think I’m going to be sick…popcorn; my favorite childhood snack has now
betrayed me. “I’ll be right back! Don’t worry you’ll be seated any minute!” I
need to get to a washroom, now.
Look at that
girl in the mirror; puke in her hair and too heavy for this tiny hostess
outfit. Repulsive.
School the next day
Look at her
sitting there. Marie, with her perfect blonde hair (dyed obviously but still
gorgeous) slightly curled at the bottom. I swear if she weren’t in her uniform
she’d be the perfect Tumblr girl. So picturesque and elegant even in our
box-shaped blouse.
“So, what are
you guys wearing to semi?”
“I got this
black dress…it’s backless! But I want to lose some weight before, it’s a bit
too tight right now.”
“Same, my dress
has a corset style top and I want it to lace up as tight as possible.”
Don’t say
anything Corry; nothing you say will be helpful. Just let it go.
“Well I was thinking
about going on a liquid diet, you guys want to do it with me?”
Marie,
seriously? I’m pretty sure North York General would not approve.
“Ya, we only
have a week and a half till semi so let’s go with that.”
“Sounds good! So
are we all doing it?” Well I guess that’s decided then. When is my next
appointment? I have one between now and semi. I can skip that one, Ma won’t
notice. Perfect! I could use it anyway.
Marie: The day before semi
“It’s literally
the day before semi…where is Corry? How am I supposed to keep up this liquid
diet and get ready for semi alone? She’s probably dropped more than the rest of
us and wants to surprise everyone at semi. Bitch. Has anyone heard from her?”
“No I was trying
to call her but my mom said that her moms took her phone.”
“I heard she’s
in the hospital.”
“What? Nobody
thought to tell me! Come on guys! I’m calling my mom.” People! My best friend
ever is in the hospital? Why wouldn’t someone mention this to me? “Hey mom have
you spoken to Ma recently?”
“Marie I’m on my way
to pick you up. Be out front in 10.”
Oh crap. I can’t
think clearly enough to cry. What’s going on?
North York General Hospital
“I’m sorry Miss but Corry isn’t
having visitors outside of her family yet.”
Back home.
