Burnt Out

There seems to be darkness and suicide everywhere I look lately. Why does everyone want to die? I'm done, completely burnt out. I can't support one more person through one more suicidal thought.
I know letting myself get to a point where I'm totally drained isn't ideal. Pacing myself and only taking on what I can handle has always been a weakness of mine...but usually that doesn't mean having 4 people in 2 weeks threaten to end their lives. That was an overload. I hit a point where I can't deal with anymore negative emotions at all.

Does anyone feel similarly?

I essentially drowned myself I'm other people's problems to avoid my own as well as simply loathing the notion that I've failed someone. This is what happens when you try and make everyone else happy, not only do you lose sight of your own joy but you inevitably let someone down despite your best efforts.

These are some helplines for anyone in stormy waters:
1-866-531-2600 (mental health hotline)
1-800-668-6868 (kids help phone)
1-800-273-8255 (suicide prevention line)

You are not alone, whether you are the friend going through a rough time or are the person whose head is sinking into a sea of other's problems. You are not alone.

It's to know not only what your limits are but those of the people around you. Believe me, I recognized that this is easier said than done (as I have been oblivious to both lately) but if you don't it's a recipe for someone to get hurt.

You don't owe anyone anything...nor does anyone owe you. Friendship is about balance and you can't always be relying on one or two people to be there for you. It's not their job to be there or their fault if they can't; you can't reasonably hold them accountable. Likewise, no matter what anyone says, you do not owe anyone; it is not you responsibility to be therefor everyone. You won't succeed in that endeavour, you can't.

This doesn't mean that you don't love/care for them or they don't feel that way about you, it is just part of life. Better to learn how to cope than spend your only lifetime thinking everyone is failing you and you are failing everyone.
